        In an effort to further promote the pooling of the strengths and wisdom of ethnic Chinese and overseas Chinese, to fortify the cohesion of the Chinese people, to promote the National Games in its leading role in the nation’s sports reform, as well as to boost the nation’s sports development, in a press conference on July 14, General Administration of Sport of China announced its invitation to ethnic Chinese and overseas Chinese to participate in the 13th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, among whom eligible athletes of various sports, as invited athletes, will participate in the Games in a personal capacity. The eligible athletes recognized by the Participation Committee will compete, in accordance with the competition schedule, in the following 34 disciplines of 26 sports: Athletics (marathon not included), Aquatics (Swimming, Diving and Water polo), Archery, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Canoe Sprint, Cycling (track, road, mountain bike and BMX), Equestrian, Fencing, Football (Men’s U-20, Men’s Urban, and Women’s Football), Golf, Gymnastics (artistic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics), Handball, Hockey, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting (Rifle and Pistol), Softball, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Volleyball (Women’s U21, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Volleyball, and Beach Volleyball), Weightlifting, Wrestling, and Wushu (Taolu and Sanda).

        Eligible athletes of ethnic Chinese and overseas Chinese will be received and serviced by Beijing Sport University in their pre-event training, etc.
